In the 20th century, as today, the name BISMARCK® stands for the highest level of razor art from Solingen. The DOVO razor No. 2 impresses not only with its illustrious name, but also with its characteristic look, high weight and incomparable handling.

Material: silver steel with gold decoration

The blade of this masterpiece is made of carbon steel (1.2210), also known as silver steel. In order to achieve a hardness of around 61 HRC, the material is heated to over 1000 degrees and then quenched with a special oil. The ornaments are artfully decorated with 24-carat gold, giving the razor a touch of luxury.

Handle material: Fine ebony

The razor's handle is made of black ebony, one of the most valuable woods on earth. With its hardness and weight, ebony is ideal for making high-quality handles. Several sanding passes are necessary to create the silky-soft surface that not only looks elegant, but also defies moisture and retains its shape.

Cut: Fully hollow for a gentle shave

The razor has a fully hollow grind, which is ground concavely from the back to the cutting edge. This design combines great flexibility with high torsional rigidity. The hollow grind ensures a gentle shave and creates a characteristic sound that accompanies the swinging of the knife when cutting hair.

Blade Description: Round head for safety and versatility

The round head, a classic shape of the razor, is extremely versatile and proven. The bulbous shape allows for safe use around the ears, nose and dimples. Even in the event of an accident, the round head offers additional protection against injuries.
