Dorp & Voos Wellen Ebony Round-Point Straight Razor 6/8" - Dovo
The Dovo Dorp & Voos Wellen is a full-hollow-ground straight razor with a 6/8-inch blade for classic wet shaving and heavy beard growth. The historic original carbon steel blank, partial gold plating and solid ebony scales make each piece a special collector’s item.
If you appreciate a calm, direct blade feel while shaving, the wide 6/8-inch blade offers a pleasant weight. The round point can be guided with control around contours and around the nose, ears and dimples.

Materials and craftsmanship
The blade is made of 1.2210 carbon steel, also known as silver steel, and reaches a hardness of around 61 HRC according to Dovo. The historic blanks were manufactured around 60 years ago and have been stored at Dovo ever since; the original markings on the tang show the Dovo logo from that period.
The hard and heavy ebony is processed through several sanding and polishing stages to create a silky-smooth surface. The full-hollow grind combines flexibility with longitudinal stability and produces the characteristic sound of a finely honed straight razor while shaving.
How to use
Before shaving, strop the straight razor on a suitable leather strop and place the blade against well-lathered skin at an angle of approximately 30 degrees. Guide the razor without pressure, initially with the direction of beard growth; further passes across or against the grain are suitable for experienced users.
